The lights on this item did not work at all, right out of the packaging. There seems to be the potential for adjustment of the bracket, but the "buttons" that you would think would adjust it, neither push in nor pull out. Without the lights, the magnifier simply makes a shadow on the item (sewing), making it harder to see. Since this is made in China, I would not bother trying to return it as I wouldn't want a replacement of the same item. Very disappointing.
